loriI love making a difference. My work includes helping people reduce sports injuries using a series of mobile phone apps I created called Stretch Guru. Before relocating to Arizona in 2010, I was a multiple award winning Realtor in Vancouver, BC, Canada, helping people find just that perfect home or investment. I loved it!

For recreation, I enjoy sports and adventure travel. Summiting Africa's two highest peaks – Kilimanjaro (2008) and Mt Kenya (2011) while on service trips – were the perfect conquests. Mt Everest Base Camp in Nepal (2013) and the Salkantay and Inca Trails in Peru (2014) were also amazing and challenging experiences. Closer to sea level, co-founding the "Answer for Cancer Tour 2011" allowed me to ride my motorbike 42 states and 7 provinces in 55 days bringing the message of cancer prevention. Both my parents are survivors, so it was a cause close to my heart. Horseback riding and alpine skiing are also passions.

While not working or playing, I give back by supporting organizations that advance prosperity and healing. Frances and I co-founded the "We're Making it Our Beeswax" program in Zambia where we taught villagers how to make and sell beeswax candles. This skill provided them with an income, where they otherwise had none. I've also served on many boards, most recently the Canadian board of Prevent Cancer Now. PCN's mission is to eliminate the preventable causes of cancer. I've created a mobile phone app to help fulfill on this mission: Prevent Cancer: 365 Daily Tips. All profits go to PCN.

I live with my husband, Ken, our Whippet, Parker, and our Rat Terrier mix, Milo, in Phoenix, AZ.

loriI've been a career hairstylist since 1985 and a business owner since 1996. I achieved what I thought was the pinnacle of success vocationally, but my philanthropic heart was not fulfilled.

Although I gave to various charities and sponsored children through World Vision, I didn't give my time. I didn't think I had a spare minute after my busy work schedule! Then I met Lori Losch when I donated to the "Answer for Cancer Tour 2011," an organization she co-founded. With that chance meeting I began to open and nurture my philanthropic heart, and it's so good!

Lori and I have partnered and are dedicated to bringing hope, resources, and skills to people and organizations in developing countries worldwide. Our first such endeavor was for village women living just outside Kafakumba, a training center near Ndola, Zambia. At Kafakumba, we planted a small seed that is being nurtured into a mighty tree of sustainability and hope. We wrote Bumbles ... finds her way home! to educate about and give towards the ongoing efforts at Kafakumba. We also support the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya by sponsoring orphaned rhinos and elephants. When we visited the DSWT, we were so touched that we decided to dedicate our second book Bumbles ... saves Naioki! to that organization.

I live in Vancouver, BC, where I enjoy an active yoga practice year round and the Harley I nicknamed "Smootch" when it's not raining. I look forward to creating many more Bumbles books and helping thousands of marginalized people and animals in the process!
